The Macallan Double Cask 18 Year Old is a perfectly balanced single malt whisky matured for 18 years in both American and European sherry seasoned oak casks. It is a more mature, refined, and deeper sibling to the 12 Year Old Double Cask.
This expression offers a sweeter, warmer taste and character, combining the delicate vanilla of American oak with the subtle spice of European oak. It is amber honey in color and exceptionally smooth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Dried fruit, ginger, and toffee with rich orange.
- Palate: Raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla, and ginger.
- Finish: Warm oak spice with sweet orange.
